NIIT has been associated with world GIS leader, ESRI and its legendary ArcInfo software
since 1985, when it first began reselling ESRI software in Indian sub-continent through
its associate company IDM.
In 1996, NIIT entered into a long-term relationship with ESRI
with a joint venture for GIS business in India and thus ESRI
India (NIIT GIS Ltd) was born. The new entity was special as it was the coming
together of the finest GIS software major from USA, ESRI and a leading global software services major
from India , NIIT to offer end-to-end GIS software and services.
Over the last five years, NIIT GIS has been
delivering ESRI software, training, consulting, and technical support to its customers. It
has a growing base of over 1000 customers and an installed base of over
8000 ESRI software
licenses. NIIT GIS has also been voted "Best GIS Solutions" Company by the
Indian GIS Community during the MapIndia 2001 and 2002 Conference.
The ESRI India User conference is a top draw and attracts
hundreds of GIS
professionals, academicians and decision makers from across the country.
